Nokia sues Asian LCD panel makers

Inspired by AT&T's move back in October, Nokia has filed complaints both in the UK and the United States against Asian companies, claiming that they have formed cartels to fix the prices of LCD panels which are used in mobile phones, TVs and monitors.Nokia's lawsuits are based on investigations conducted in the US, Europe and other countries regarding antitrust violations by panel makers. The US probe has already seen LG Display, Sharp and Chunghwa Picture Tubes pleading guilty to price fixing accusations and paying hundreds of millions of dollars in fines.Among the companies named in Nokia's complaints are Samsung, AU Optronics, LG, Philips, Hitachi, Sharp, Toshiba, Seiko Epson and Chunghwa Picture Tubes. With the lawsuits the Finnish phone maker is asking for damages plus an injunction to halt any shady moves from the panel builders.
